Total weeks played

The league plays every Monday prior to the last Sunday of August when we have our outing. Therefor the total number of weeks may very depending upon the number of rain outs.

Games in the hole

The first three weeks of play are considered "Games in the hole".

During the season you will be given a score every week whether you are there or not. We alway select your best game for the current days game or a game in the hole. If you go on vacation and are unable to attend golf on Monday then your best game from previous games or in the hole will be used. Prior to using this method players number of games varied so mush that no one for sure know who was in what position and all of a sudden the person who was in 10th place won the league.

If you play early on the same day and same course then this is considered an official game and not a makeup as long as the card is turned in that same day.

League Formulas

Point = 75 - ( days.score - HDCP )

HDCP = (( score.all.games.played / total.games.played) -36) * .8

Starting Handicap

Your starting HDCP is the ending handicap from the previous year or the handicap of your first three games if this is your first year of play.

The database will include your HDCP entered 2 times into your total strokes at the beginning of the year ( even though the games played on the sheet indicate zerro. After you play your first game, that score and your two hidden handicap scores will be added and divided by three (3) and calculated using the above formula to obtain your current handicap. The sheet will only show one game played, but the handicap will reflect total games played + 2 beginning handicaped games.

This is to prevent any radical changes in handicap during the first few weeks of play.

Makup Games

There is no such thing as makeup games.

Makeup games have only been permitted when the total number of games shot by any player is less then the number of games needed for completion of qualification.

However four (4) years ago Terry was required to pay for all players as a single payment to the clubhouse. This payment method created rainchecks that Terry distributed to the absent members on the league.
These members after playing the free round would hand there cards to me as makeups, even though there was no such thing.

So I began recording the scores, but only as scores to be used in case the player lacked enough games to complete the season.

So remember if you use a raincheck, you may turn your card in and I will record the score, but it will not be used unless it is needed to complete your qualification.

If you play early on the same day and same course then this is considered an official game and not a makeup as long as the card is turned in that same day.
